City Treasurer Stephanie D. Neely is joined by financial expert Terry Savage at the City Treasurer's Office kickoff of the Neighborhood Economic Summits.

Welcome to the Web site of the Office of the City Treasurer of Chicago! The goal of this site is to present insightful information about the work the Office of the City Treasurer does on behalf of the citizens of Chicago.

I am honored to have been elected City Treasurer by the citizens of Chicago. I look forward to using the resources of my Office to bring forth programs and new ideas that improve the quality of life for all residents of our great City.

During these challenging economic times our City Treasurer Stephanie D. Neely invites all Chicagoans to participate in upcoming 2009 Neighborhood Economic Summits.

The primary mission of this Office is to be the Chief Investment Officer of a portfolio of approximately $6 billion. I do this by protecting principal, maintaining liquidity and earning the highest possible investment return for the City. In addition to our core mission, promoting economic development is also a top priority of my Office. This goal is obtained by allocating resources to community outreach programs that promote financial literacy and the development of small businesses.
