CHICAGO – City Treasurer Kurt Summers will host the 10th quarterly earnings call on August 29 at 12pm CST to report on the City of Chicago’s investment portfolio performance for Q2 2017. Treasurer Summers will be joined by Chang Suh, Senior Executive Vice President – Chief Portfolio Manager for the AFL-CIO Housing Investment Trust (HIT), to discuss their shared focus on affordable and workforce housing investments in Chicago.

Register for the call and webinar here.

“The AFL-CIO’s HIT commitment to investing in Chicago’s neighborhoods, particularly our most vulnerable communities, is an admirable effort that has a tremendous impact on our residents and union workers across our City.” Treasurer Summers said. “ For the over three decades, HIT has been dedicated to investments in our City with over $647 million in 41 projects that have total development investments of more than $1.3 billion in Chicago and has created close to 7,000 jobs. I applaud institutional investors like the AFL-CIO HIT that have made Chicago a target for their investment strategy to serve working families by ensuring all communities have access to sustainable and affordable housing.”

Mr. Suh added that “The AFL-CIO Housing Investment Trust has had a long history investing in Chicago and we continue to look for ways to expand our impact in this vibrant market.”

Treasurer Summers created the quarterly earnings calls during the start of his tenure as an opportunity to increase financial transparency and accountability to Chicagoans. In addition to sharing the investment portfolio performance for the City of Chicago, the call will provide an overview of the local and national economy.

All Chicagoans are welcome to join the quarterly earnings call by registering here. Participants will be able to dial-in to the call or watch the presentation with audio online on August 29 after registering.
