RELEASE: Treasurer Summers to Hold Chicago’s Second Quarterly Earnings Call

Invites Public to Join Call and Live Webcast Tuesday, August 11 at 1 p.m.

Chicago City Treasurer Kurt Summers will lead the City’s second-ever quarterly earnings call on Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at 1:00pm (CST). Chicago is the first and only city in the nation to hold such a call. Introduced by the Treasurer during his first 90 days in office, the call serves as a way to share with taxpayers and the public the financial performance of Chicago’s investment portfolio on a quarterly basis. Hosted by Microsoft, the one-hour call and live webcast presentation will provide overviews of the global and national economies as well as Chicago’s current fiscal landscape. More than 300 participants from all over the nation dialed-in to the first quarter call, held in May.

“Chicago’s earnings call is an innovative and interactive new way to update residents and other stakeholders on the status of our portfolio,” Treasurer Summers said. “Chicagoans all across our City have voiced the need for greater transparency in our financial reporting and this call serves as an avenue to provide that information. I look forward to hosting this dynamic online experience and sharing our progress on investing in Chicago.”

Participants can hear the call by phone or watch by computer after registering online. Those who register online will be able to view a PowerPoint presentation which can be used to follow along. Questions are welcome and can be typed in during the presentation to be answered near the end of the call.
