RELEASE: Treasurer Summers Announces Chicago’s Third Quarterly Earnings Call

Will Discuss Impact of 2016 Budget on Chicago’s Communities; Invites Public to Join Call and Live Webcast Tuesday, Nov. 3 at 12 p.m.

Chicago City Treasurer Kurt Summers will lead the City’s third quarterly earnings call on Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2015, at 12:00pm (CST). The call will focus on the just approved 2016 budget and the impact it will have on City finances and Chicago’s communities. Introduced by the Treasurer during his first 90 days in office, the call serves as a way to share with taxpayers and the public the financial performance of Chicago’s investment portfolio on a quarterly basis. The one-hour call and live webcast presentation will provide overviews of the global and national economies as well as Chicago’s current fiscal landscape. Chicago is the first and only city in the nation to hold such a call.

“The recent vote on the 2016 budget was a difficult but important one for the future of Our Chicago,” Treasurer Summers said. “As we continue to build on the progress laid out by Mayor Emanuel and our City Council, please join me for an interactive discussion on the status of the City’s portfolio and the impact this new budget will have on our neighborhoods and local economy.”

Participants can hear the call by phone or watch by computer after registering online. Those who register online will be able to view a PowerPoint presentation which can be used to follow along.

Questions are welcome and can be typed in during the presentation to be answered near the end of the call.
