Responses received after the January 20, 2012 deadline will not be accepted. The Office of the City Treasurer will make its decision and notify your firm regarding its status as an approved 2012 broker/dealer on or before February 13, 2012. In order to increase the City's ability to diversify assets and better position itself to increase earnings, the City's Statement of Investment Policy and Guidelines and the Municipal Code of Chicago have both been amended in 2011. Specifically, the City is now authorized to invest in highly rated investments in such asset classes as: corporate bonds, municipal bonds, U.S. Dollar denominated sovereign debt, supranational bonds, and we expanded our commercial paper flexibility.

Thank you for your interest in working with my office.   Please feel free to contact Thomas Latzke at (312) 742-1852 if you have any questions.

Sincerely,
